Interesting, that you say that. People tend to complain about the sharpness of this lens wide open (this photo is f 2.8), they say it is soft (there is a new version of this lens now...). This was even taken on a 1.6 crop camera what multiplies imperfections of any lens as the pixeldensity of the sensor is higher. Anyway, IMHO sharpness is overvalued in a lens, good bokeh for portraits is definitely equally important. If you want both you have to go for 200 2.0, but that is EXPENSIVE.
